TRANSITUS OF SAINT BENEDICT

Death of Saint Benedict, supported by his two disciples, Saints Maurus and Placidus, after receiving Holy Communion

It is always a renewed joy to celebrate the “Transitus,” the passage from earthly life to heavenly life, of our Blessed Father Saint Benedict. Our small community was surrounded by several priests and friends of the monastery at the solemn Mass celebrated by Monsignor Giorgio Brancaleoni, former Vicar General. He delivered the homily praising Our Lord Jesus Christ, who adorned the soul of Saint Benedict with so many exceptional virtues: his insatiable thirst for God, his gentleness, and at the same time, his persuasive desire to give himself without reserve.
